Former WWF/E Superstar Brian Christopher Pronounced Dead
Indeed, it was a sad weekend for the wrestling business. Best casino in okc. First, there was the death of Brickhouse Brown. Then, the news of Nikolai Volkoff's passing spread. And then, in a surprising sway of events, news websites reported that former WWF (now WWE) Superstar, Brian Christopher, was pronounced dead.
Of course, some of those reports had jumped to conclusions. Ryan Satin and Dave Meltzer reported very different things within the same hour. Meltzer had already reported to his Twitter base that Christopher was pronounced dead. However, Satin said that he was actually on a form of life support, but what was not expected to live.
So What Happened?
It has been known that Brian Christopher had been struggling for quite a while. Unfortunately, his troubles landed him in jail with a DUI in addition to other legal problems. Pro Wrestling Sheet reported that Saturday night he had been rushed to a hospital following a suicide attempt in his jail cell.
There are some reports that say he was kept on life support long enough for his father, Jerry 'The King' Lawler, to make it to the hospital and say goodbye.

Brian Christopher had a 25-year-long career with wrestling. He began his journey in the late 80s where he would perform with the United States Wrestling Association. He would go on to the WWF in 1997.
Although Brian is technically Jerry Lawler's son, this fact was never brought to WWF/E programming. That suggests there was tension between them for a long time, perhaps even estranged from one another.
He is also most widely recognized for his time with 'Too Cool' during the Attitude Era, where he performed under the ring name 'Grandmaster Sexay.' As Grandmaster, he was paired with Scott 'Scotty 2 Hotty' Garland. Later on, Rikishi would join the duo. Soon enough, they were crowned Tag Team Champions in 2000 and were wildly popular. The duo (and trio) were well-known for their dancing antics following matches. And, of course, fans would really get behind it. Here's a quick stroll down memory lane:
Brian Christopher would also move on from the WWE following very serious drug allegations, leading to his termination. He was a notable character during his time with TNA Wrestling, back when it was just learning how to get its feet off the ground.
He did return to the WWE at one point, where he challenged The Ascension for the NXT Tag Team Championship belts at what was the first of the NXT: TakeOver series.

Brian Christopher Lawler, a former pro wrestler and the son of WWE icon Jerry 'The King' Lawler, died Sunday after attempting suicide in his prison cell. He was 46.
TMZ, citing Lawler's mother, reported that the younger Lawler passed away after being placed on life support Saturday evening. Kay Lawler told the outlet that Jerry Lawler and other family members were at her son's side when he died.

In a statement Sunday, WWE said it was 'saddened' to learn of Brian Christopher's death and extended its condolences to his 'family, friends and fans.'
Brian performed on-and-off for WWE between the late 1980s and 2014. He was best known for his alter ego Grandmaster Sexay, who formed half of the tag team Too Cool along with Scotty 2 Hotty.
How Old Is Brian Christopher
TMZ previously reported that Brian Christopher tried to hang himself in his jail cell outside Memphis. The younger Lawler was facing charges in connection with an incident earlier this month in which he was arrested and accused of driving under the influence after leading police on a brief chase.

Police said Brian Christopher exhibited erratic behavior and initially refused to stop his car when officers tried to pull him over early on July 7. After he stopped, police noticed an open container in his car's center console and arrested him immediately.
